Rotherham offers stunning open spaces, attractive villages and successful schools. So, it’s no surprise that our people are passionate about this borough. However, we’re committed to building an even better place. Where opportunity is extended to everyone, where people can grow, flourish and prosper, and where no one is left behind. To achieve this, we’re transforming the way we deliver public services. Commitment, tenacity and passion have already taken us a long way. You’ll take us even further.
Strategic Director - Regeneration & Environment
As the Strategic Director of Regeneration & Environment, you’ll be part of the senior and corporate leadership team. You’ll strengthen our corporate culture of openness and transparency and like us be striving towards excellence. Working at the core of our regeneration and environment frontline service, with and across all Directorates, you’ll think bigger and be bolder. The role sits front and centre of our aspirational and progressive Rotherham plan bringing together our neighbourhood strategy with a sharp customer focus, operational grip and reinforcing our senior stakeholder relationships across our independent council. As part of this, you’ll support the development of a university campus, as well as the further expansion of our Advanced Manufacturing Park opportunities. And you’ll do the same for the Rotherham, Yorkshire and Humber regeneration programmes, which is packed with enviable potential.
With significant experience of leading a diverse senior management team in a complex organisation, you’ll have also successfully controlled large complex budgets within tight financial limits. Plus, you know how to apply risk management while setting strategies, and have a thorough understanding of the legislation, issues and agendas facing local government. So if you want to flourish in an innovative, honest and straight-forward culture, managing change to improve outcomes for the people of Rotherham, we would love to hear from you.
